Anamudi Shola National Park: A Guide to Idukki's Unique Ecosystem

Anamudi Shola National Park is a protected area located along the Western Ghats in the Idukki district of Kerala. The park is composed of three distinct forest patches: Mannavan shola, Idivara shola, and Pullardi shola. The landscape is a mosaic of southern wet temperate forests, locally known as sholas, and montane grasslands. This unique ecosystem creates a habitat for a wide variety of flora and fauna, some of which are endemic to the region. Visitors can experience the dense canopy of the shola forests, which are often dark and cool even during the day, opening into rolling green grasslands.
