Famous for its Wednesday flea market, rocky shores, and lively beach shacks, Anjuna is a classic North Goa experience with a bohemian feel.
Discover what makes this destination truly special

Anjuna Beach is a well-known stretch of coastline in North Goa, characterized by its reddish sand, rocky outcrops, and swaying palm trees. Unlike many other Goan beaches that are long and flat, Anjuna is broken into small coves and features distinctive rock formations jutting into the sea, which makes for a dramatic landscape, especially during sunset. The southern end of the beach is busier, lined with a continuous row of shacks and restaurants like Curlies and Shiva Valley, which are famous for their music events. The atmosphere here is distinctly bohemian, a legacy of its past as a popular spot for hippies in the 1960s. This vibe is most evident at the famous Anjuna Flea Market, held every Wednesday. Here, vendors sell everything from handmade jewelry and clothes to spices and souvenirs. During the day, visitors can relax on sunbeds, take a dip in the sea, or try water sports. As evening approaches, the shacks turn into lively party spots with music playing late into the night.
