Best Season:The ideal time to visit Athirapally Falls is from September to January. During this post-monsoon period, the waterfall is full and powerful, and the surrounding greenery is lush. The weather is pleasant for the walk and trek. The monsoon months, from June to August, offer the most spectacular, roaring view of the falls, but heavy rains can make the trek to the base slippery and risky, sometimes leading to its closure. The summer months, from February to May, have considerably less water flow.

Athirapally Falls is the largest waterfall in Kerala, located on the Chalakudy River. Originating from the upper reaches of the Western Ghats, the river cascades down from a height of about 80 feet, creating a powerful and wide spectacle often compared to Niagara Falls. The experience for visitors is multi-faceted. Upon entering, a paved path leads you through a light forest to the top of the falls, where you can see the river gathering force before it plunges.
