Activities are centered around the river and the surrounding wilderness. You can go on a coracle ride, a traditional round boat, which offers a unique perspective of the river and its banks. Kayaking is another popular water-based activity.

Best Time to Visit

The ideal time to visit Bheemeshwari is from September to February. During these post-monsoon and winter months, the weather is pleasant, and the Cauvery river has good water levels, making it perfect for water activities. The surrounding landscape is green and lively. Summer, from March to May, is very hot and dry, which can be uncomfortable for outdoor activities. The monsoon season, from June to August, brings heavy rains that can cause the river to swell, leading to the suspension of most water sports for safety reasons.
Peak Crowd: October to January, especially on weekends and public holidays, due to pleasant weather and holiday season.
Moderate Crowd: Weekdays from September to February, and weekends in August and March.
Low Crowd: April to July, due to extreme summer heat and heavy monsoon rains which restrict activities.

How to Reach

Air

The nearest airport is Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) in Bengaluru, approximately 125 km away. From the airport, you can hire a taxi which takes about 3-4 hours to reach Bheemeshwari.

Train

The nearest major railway station is Bengaluru City Junction (SBC), about 100 km away. Smaller stations like Maddur (50 km) and Ramanagaram (65 km) are closer but have limited connectivity. From any of these stations, you need to hire a taxi.

Road

Bheemeshwari is well-connected by road from Bengaluru (approx. 100 km). The most common route is via Kanakapura Road (NH 948). The drive takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. The roads are generally in good condition, with the last few kilometers being through forest area.

Local Transport

There is no reliable local transport directly to the camps. Hiring a private car or taxi for the entire trip from Bengaluru is the most convenient option. Auto-rickshaws are not suitable for this route.
