The Buddha Statue of Hyderabad is a massive monolithic sculpture standing on a platform called the 'Rock of Gibraltar' in the middle of Hussain Sagar, a man-made lake. Carved from a single block of white granite, the statue is over 18 meters tall and weighs around 450 tons, making it one of the tallest monolithic statues of Gautama Buddha in the world. Visitors reach the statue via a short boat ride from Lumbini Park, which offers great views of the city's skyline along the way. The platform at the base of the statue provides a space to walk around, admire the sculpture's details, and take in a 360-degree view of the lake and the surrounding city, including landmarks like Birla Mandir and the Secretariat building. Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit is from October to February when the weather is cool and pleasant. Daytime temperatures are comfortable for the boat ride and for spending time on the platform. Avoid the summer months from March to June, as the heat can be intense. The monsoon season (July to September) can bring rain, which might disrupt boat services. Evenings are popular year-round for the beautiful lighting and cooler lake breeze.

Air

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) is about 30 km away. You can hire a pre-paid taxi or use a ride-hailing service, which takes about 45-60 minutes to reach.

Train

The main railway stations are Secunderabad Junction (6 km) and Hyderabad Deccan (Nampally) Station (4 km). Both stations are well-connected, and you can easily find taxis or auto-rickshaws to reach Lumbini Park.

Hyderabad is connected by major national highways. The statue is located centrally in the city. If driving, you can use GPS to navigate to Lumbini Park, which has paid parking.
