Best Season:The best time to visit is from March to June and September to November when the weather is pleasant for sitting outdoors by the river. Evenings are ideal for the live music and atmosphere. Avoid the peak monsoon months of July and August, as heavy rain can make outdoor seating unavailable and the river level might be dangerously high. Winters (December to February) are very cold, but the indoor section offers a cozy experience with views of the snow.

Travel Tips & Guidelines

Make the most of your visit with these helpful tips

Tips

Visit in the evening after 7 PM to catch the live music sessions.

Try to get a table by the river for the best experience; you may need to arrive early or wait.

During peak season (May-June, Dec-Jan), book a table in advance to avoid long waiting times.

Carry a light jacket or shawl as it gets cool by the river, even during summer evenings.

Parking space is limited and can fill up quickly. Consider hiring a taxi or an auto-rickshaw.

The path down to the riverside seating can be a bit uneven, so wear comfortable footwear.

Check their social media pages for information on special events or guest artist performances.

While the Italian food is popular, their Trout Fish preparation is a local specialty worth trying.

Safety Tips

Be very cautious near the river. The rocks are slippery, and the current is strong.

Do not leave your belongings unattended, especially during crowded evening hours.

The road outside the cafe is a busy highway; be careful while crossing or parking.

If visiting late at night, ensure you have confirmed transportation back to your hotel.

In winter, the path to the cafe can be icy. Walk carefully.

Drink responsibly as the high altitude can amplify the effects of alcohol.
