Best Season:The ideal time to visit Candolim Beach is from November to February. During these months, the weather is dry and pleasant with comfortable temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C. All beach shacks, restaurants, and water sports are fully operational. This is the peak tourist season, so expect more people. The period from March to May becomes increasingly hot and humid. The monsoon season, from June to September, sees heavy rainfall, and the beach is mostly deserted with closed shacks and no water activities.

History

Candolim village holds historical importance as the birthplace of Abbé Faria (Abade Faria), a Goan Catholic monk who was one of the pioneers of the scientific study of hypnotism. He was a key figure in the late 18th century, and a statue in his honor is located in Panjim. The beach itself was one of the first areas in North Goa to be developed for tourism in the 1970s and 80s. For over a decade, the beach was famous for the grounded ship, the MV River Princess, which ran ashore in 2000 and became an accidental tourist landmark until it was salvaged. Today, Candolim is an established and popular tourist destination.
