Srinagar International Airport (SXR) is the nearest airport, located about 110 km from Chandanwari. From the airport, you can hire a taxi to reach Pahalgam (approx. 3 hours), and then take a local union taxi to Chandanwari.
Train
The nearest major railway station is Jammu Tawi (JAT), about 270 km away. Another option is Udhampur (UHP), around 230 km away. From the station, you need to hire a cab or take a bus to Srinagar or Pahalgam.
Road
Pahalgam is well-connected by road to Srinagar (95 km) and Jammu (255 km). From Pahalgam, Chandanwari is 16 km away and can only be reached by hiring a pre-approved local taxi from the main taxi stand in Pahalgam.
Local Transport
Within Pahalgam, you can walk or hire auto-rickshaws for short distances. To visit Chandanwari, Betaab Valley, and Aru Valley, hiring a taxi from the local union is mandatory and they operate on fixed-rate charts.
