Chathurangapara Viewpoint is a windy ridge on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, known for its large windmill farm and sweeping panoramic views. The name translates to 'square rock', referring to the terrain. Upon reaching the top, you are greeted by consistently strong winds and the sight of hundreds of windmills stretching across the hills. The viewpoint offers a unique 360-degree perspective, with the green, rolling hills of Idukki on one side and the plains of Tamil Nadu, dotted with towns and farms, on the other.

The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport (COK), approximately 130 km away (4-5 hour drive). Madurai Airport (IXM) is also an option, located about 140 km away.
Train
The closest major railway stations are Aluva (AWY), about 130 km away, and Kottayam (KTYM), about 120 km away. From the station, you would need to hire a taxi to reach the viewpoint area.
Road
The viewpoint is located near Udumbanchola, accessible from the Munnar-Thekkady route (via Nedumkandam). The main roads are well-maintained, but the last 3-4 km stretch to the viewpoint is unpaved and rugged.
Local Transport
Hiring a local jeep from Nedumkandam or Udumbanchola is the most common and recommended way to reach the top. While auto-rickshaws are available, they may not be suitable for the steep and rough final ascent.
