The best time to visit Chellarkovil is from September to February. During these post-monsoon and winter months, the weather is cool and pleasant. The waterfall is at its fullest, and the vegetation is lush and green, providing the best scenery. The skies are generally clear, offering unobscured views of the plains. Chellarkovil is located about 15 km from Kumily (Thekkady) town. Kumily is well-connected by state-run and private buses from major cities in Kerala and Tamil Nadu like Kochi, Kottayam, Madurai, and Trivandrum.

Local Transport

From Kumily town, the most convenient way to reach Chellarkovil is by hiring an auto-rickshaw or a jeep. These are readily available in town and offer round trips for a fixed price.
