A long, clean sandy beach near Kochi, known for its calm waters, dolphin sightings, and the unique parallel view of the sea and backwaters.
Cherai Beach is a 10-kilometer-long sandy stretch located on the northern end of Vypin Island, a short drive from Kochi city. What makes this beach distinct is its unique geography: the Arabian Sea lies on one side while the tranquil backwaters are on the other, separated by a narrow strip of land. The water here is relatively calm and shallow, making it suitable for swimming and wading. The beach is lined with coconut groves and a few paddy fields, giving it a typical Keralan coastal village feel.
