The Chottanikkara Bhagavathy Temple is one of the most significant Hindu pilgrimage centers in Kerala, dedicated to the Goddess Bhagavathy. The deity is worshipped in three different forms throughout the day: as Saraswati in the morning, draped in white; as Lakshmi in the afternoon, in red; and as Durga in the evening, in blue. This unique practice draws devotees from all over the country. The temple complex is divided into two main parts: the main upper shrine, 'Melkavu', and the lower shrine, 'Keezhkavu'.
