A secluded South Goa beach known for its freshwater lagoon, rustic huts, and quiet atmosphere, accessible via a rough, unpaved track.
Discover what makes this destination truly special

Cola Beach is a distinctive coastal spot in South Goa, mainly known for the freshwater lagoon that runs along its edge, separated from the Arabian Sea by a narrow strip of sand. This feature, often called the 'Blue Lagoon', is the primary draw for visitors. The water in the lagoon is calm, making it suitable for swimming and kayaking, which can be rented from the local shacks. The beach itself is a small, sandy cove flanked by dark, volcanic rocks and palm trees. It is less crowded compared to the more popular beaches in North and even South Goa due to its relatively remote location and difficult access. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, with a few rustic beach huts and shacks offering basic accommodation and food. Visitors come here for a day trip to experience the lagoon or stay overnight for a more disconnected experience with nature. Access involves navigating a rough, unpaved road, which adds a sense of adventure to the visit.
