Overview

Devikulam is a small hill station located about 8 kilometers from Munnar in the Idukki district of Kerala. Its name, which translates to "pond of the goddess," comes from the local legend that the goddess Sita, wife of Lord Rama, once bathed in the lake here. The main attraction is this very lake, known as Sita Devi Lake, which sits amidst rolling hills and lush greenery. Visitors come here for the calm atmosphere, which is a noticeable contrast to the more crowded main areas of Munnar.

The best time to visit Devikulam is from September to March. During these months, the monsoon has ended, leaving the landscape exceptionally green and vibrant.
