An interactive center in Thekkady offering visitors a chance to feed, bathe, and ride elephants within a spice plantation setting.
The Elephant Camp in Thekkady provides an interactive experience with domesticated elephants. Set within a spice plantation, the camp allows visitors to get close to these large animals under the supervision of their mahouts (handlers). The main activities focus on direct interaction, moving beyond simple viewing. You can participate in feeding the elephants a prepared basket of fruits, which is often the first point of contact. Another popular activity is elephant bathing, where visitors can help scrub the elephants in a large water pool. This is a hands-on and often playful experience.
