Girgaon Chowpatty, commonly known as Chowpatty, is a public beach located at the northern end of Marine Drive in Mumbai. Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit is from October to February when the weather is dry and pleasant, with cooler evening breezes. This period is ideal for enjoying the beach atmosphere without the discomfort of extreme heat or rain. The summer months from March to May can be very hot and humid. The monsoon season, from June to September, sees heavy rainfall and high tides, which can restrict access and make a visit less enjoyable.
Peak Crowd: Weekend evenings (Friday to Sunday), public holidays, and during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival in August/September.
Moderate Crowd: Weekday evenings between 5 PM and 10 PM.
Low Crowd: Mornings and afternoons on weekdays.

How to Reach

Air

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) is approximately 22 km away. A taxi ride can take between 60 to 90 minutes, depending on traffic.

Train

The nearest suburban railway station is Charni Road on the Western Line, about a 15-minute walk. For out-of-station trains, Mumbai Central (BCT) and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) are the main hubs, both within a 5-6 km radius.

Road

The beach is located at the northern end of Marine Drive, a major arterial road. It's easily accessible by car, taxi, or bus from anywhere in Mumbai. It connects to major highways for inter-city travel.

Local Transport

Local transport is convenient. You can take a local train to Charni Road, use BEST buses that stop directly at Chowpatty, or hire a taxi or an auto-rickshaw (from suburbs). Ride-hailing apps like Ola and Uber are widely used.
