A quiet coastal retreat near Mumbai, accessible by ferry, known for its relaxed atmosphere, buggy rides, and views of the Global Vipassana Pagoda.
Gorai Beach offers a distinct coastal experience compared to the more frequented beaches within Mumbai's city limits. Located on a peninsula in the northwestern part of the city, reaching it involves a short and enjoyable ferry ride from Borivali or Marve, which sets a different pace for the visit. The beach itself has darker, blackish sand and a more rustic feel, backed by lines of casuarina trees and the local Gorai village. The atmosphere here is generally more relaxed and less commercial, attracting families and groups looking for a simple day out.
