Gulab Bagh and Zoo - Udaipur's Largest Garden and Wildlife Park

Gulab Bagh was established by Maharana Sajjan Singh of the Mewar Dynasty in the 1880s. Originally named Sajjan Niwas Garden, its purpose was to create a beautiful recreational space for the royalty and the public. The garden was meticulously planned with a vast number of plant species brought from different parts of the country. A zoo was later incorporated into the garden to add an element of wildlife education and entertainment. The Victoria Hall Museum, which is now the Saraswati Library, was also built within its grounds. Over the years, it has remained a central green lung for the city of Udaipur.
