Hawa Beach, also known as Eve's Beach, is the second of the three famous crescent-shaped beaches in Kovalam. Situated between Lighthouse Beach and Samudra Beach, it's named for the strong, consistent sea breeze ('hawa' means wind or air) that blows across its shores. The beach has a distinct character, blending tourist relaxation with the daily life of the local fishing community. In the early mornings, the beach comes alive with fishermen preparing their nets and launching their traditional wooden catamarans into the sea, which is a fascinating sight for visitors.

Best Time to Visit

The ideal time to visit is from September to March. During these months, the weather is pleasant with lower humidity and minimal rainfall, making it perfect for swimming and relaxing on the beach. The peak tourist season is from December to January. Avoid the summer months of April and May, which are very hot and humid. The monsoon season, from June to August, brings heavy rains and rough seas, making most beach activities difficult.
Peak Crowd: December-January, weekends, and daily from 4 PM to 7 PM, coinciding with the main tourist season and sunset hours.
Moderate Crowd: September-November, February-March, and weekday afternoons.
Low Crowd: April-August, during the peak summer and monsoon seasons.

Air

Trivandrum International Airport (TRV) is the nearest airport, located about 15 km away. A taxi ride from the airport to Hawa Beach takes approximately 30-40 minutes.

Train

Thiruvananthapuram Central (TVC) is the closest major railway station, about 16 km from Kovalam. It is well-connected to major Indian cities. Taxis and auto-rickshaws are available at the station for onward travel.

Road

Kovalam is well-connected by road to Trivandrum and other cities in Kerala. KSRTC buses operate frequent services from Trivandrum. Taxis and private cars can easily access the beach area.

Local Transport
