Best Time to Visit

The best period to visit is from September to March. During these post-monsoon and winter months, the weather is cool and pleasant, making it ideal for trekking and outdoor activities. The landscape is incredibly green and vibrant after the rains. Avoid the heavy monsoon season from June to August, as trails become slippery and leech activity is high. April and May can be warm, but are still suitable for a visit if you prefer fewer crowds.
Peak Crowd: October-January, especially during long weekends and holidays like Christmas and New Year's.
Moderate Crowd: September, February, and March when the weather is still good but holiday crowds have thinned.
Low Crowd: April-August, covering the summer and peak monsoon months.

How to Reach

Air

Kannur International Airport (CNN) is the nearest, about 80 km away (3-hour drive). Mangalore International Airport (IXE) is 155 km away (4-5 hour drive).

Train

The nearest major railway stations are in Kannur (85 km) and Mysore (140 km). From there, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Coorg.

Road

From Madikeri (35 km) or Virajpet (30 km), drive towards Kakkabe. Honey Valley is located a few kilometers beyond Kakkabe. The final stretch of road is unpaved and requires a jeep or a vehicle with high ground clearance.

Local Transport

State-run buses connect major Karnataka cities to Madikeri and Virajpet. From there, local buses go to Kakkabe. The last leg of the journey from Kakkabe town to Honey Valley must be done by a hired local jeep.
