The fort is located just off National Highway 66 (NH-66), which connects Panvel and Kanyakumari. It is easily accessible by road from Mangalore (75 km) and Kannur (80 km). KSRTC and private buses frequently operate along this route.

Auto-rickshaws are the most convenient way to reach the fort from anywhere in Kanhangad town. The minimum fare is typically around ₹30-₹40. Local buses also pass near the fort area.
