Jhari Waterfalls, often called Buttermilk Falls, is a multi-tiered cascade located on a private coffee estate near Chikmagalur. The water flows down a steep, rocky cliff, creating a wide and thin curtain-like effect, which gives it its nickname. To reach the falls, visitors must take a mandatory, bumpy 4x4 jeep ride for the last few kilometers, as the path is not suitable for regular vehicles. This jeep journey through the dense greenery of the coffee plantations is an adventure in itself.

Entry to the waterfall itself is free. However, access is only possible via hired 4x4 jeeps. The round trip costs approximately ₹600 to ₹700 per jeep, which can accommodate 6-8 people. The fare is for the entire jeep, not per person.
