Rules & Restrictions

• • No bringing honey, bee products, or unwashed potatoes to the island to protect local biosecurity
• • Strictly no feeding, touching, or disturbing wild animals
• • No pets (including dogs and cats) allowed in any National Parks or conservation parks
• • Campfires are heavily restricted and completely banned during the summer fire danger season

Safety Information

• • Avoid driving between dusk and dawn when kangaroos and wallabies are highly active and frequently cross the roads

• • Carry plenty of drinking water and emergency snacks when heading to the western end of the island as services are very sparse
• • Download offline maps before traveling, as mobile phone coverage is patchy or entirely absent outside of Kingscote and Penneshaw
