Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit is from September to February when the weather in Kerala is pleasant and cool, making it comfortable to walk around the campus. Since most activities are indoors, a visit during the monsoon (June to August) can also be a good experience, with lush green surroundings. The summer months from March to May can be quite hot and humid. A visit during the annual festival period (check calendar) can offer opportunities to see full-fledged performances.

Kalamandalam is located just off the Thrissur-Shoranur State Highway (SH 22). It is well-connected by road from major cities like Thrissur (32 km), Palakkad (45 km), and Kochi (95 km). KSRTC and private buses operate frequently.

Local Transport

Auto-rickshaws are the most common mode of local transport from Shoranur town and railway station. Local buses also connect Cheruthuruthy to nearby towns.
