Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Lidderwat is from June to September. During these months, the meadows are lush green and the weather is suitable for trekking. July and August are peak season, with vibrant wildflowers, but also come with the possibility of monsoon showers. June offers clear weather post-winter, while September provides crisp air and clearer views of the mountain peaks as autumn begins to set in. Trekking is not possible from late October to May due to heavy snowfall.

Air

The nearest airport is Srinagar International Airport (SXR), approximately 107 km from Lidderwat's starting point, Aru Valley. From the airport, you can hire a taxi to Pahalgam (3-4 hours), and then another local cab to Aru Valley (30-40 minutes).

Train

The nearest major railway station is Jammu Tawi (JAT), about 265 km from Pahalgam. From Jammu, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Srinagar or Pahalgam, which is a long journey of 7-9 hours.

Road

Pahalgam is well-connected by road to Srinagar (95 km) and Jammu. From Pahalgam, Aru Valley is 12 km away and can be reached by a local taxi. The trek to Lidderwat begins from Aru Valley.
