A historic temple in Kasargod known for its unique 'elephant's back' architecture, intricate wood carvings, and revered deities of Shiva and Ganesha.
Located on the banks of the Madhuvahini River, the Madhur Temple is a significant spiritual center in Kasargod. The temple's architecture is a key attraction, featuring a unique three-tiered structure built in the 'Gajaprishta' or 'elephant's back' style, which is uncommon in Kerala. The main deities are Lord Shiva, known as Madanantheshwara, and his son Lord Ganesha, known here as Siddhivinayaka. The Ganesha idol is not a formal installation but is believed to have appeared on the southern wall of the sanctum.
