The Mallikarjuna Temple, located in the heart of Kasargod town, is one of the oldest shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva in the region. Built in the traditional Kerala architectural style, the temple features a distinct two-tiered, slope-roofed structure covered in terracotta tiles, known as a 'gajaprishta' or elephant-back design.
