Miramar Beach - The Golden Urban Beach of Panaji, Goa

Miramar Beach is a popular urban beach located in Panaji, the capital city of Goa. It stretches for about two kilometers along the coast where the Mandovi River meets the Arabian Sea. The beach is characterized by its soft, golden sand and is lined with a grove of casuarina and palm trees, offering some shade from the sun. Unlike many of Goa's more remote beaches, Miramar has a distinct city feel, with a wide road and a promenade running alongside it. It's a favorite spot for locals who come for morning and evening walks. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the shoreline, watch the sunset over the Arabian Sea, or simply sit and observe the river traffic, including fishing boats and floating casinos. From the shore, you can get a clear view of the Aguada Fort across the bay. While the beach is beautiful, swimming is generally not recommended due to strong undercurrents caused by the river estuary. The atmosphere is generally relaxed, with families, couples, and joggers frequenting the area, especially in the evenings when small food and drink stalls open up.
