Moulangi Eco Park - Riverside Adventure in Dandeli

Moulangi Eco Park is a relatively recent development, established by the Karnataka Forest Department as part of its eco-tourism initiatives. It was created to provide a structured and safe environment for tourists to access the Kali River and enjoy its natural surroundings. The primary purpose was to channel the growing tourist footfall in Dandeli towards sustainable activities, reducing the impact on the core forest areas. The park was developed by clearing a small patch and adding basic amenities, walkways, and designated activity zones, transforming it into a managed recreational area.

The significance of Moulangi Eco Park lies in its role as a primary hub for accessible water sports in Dandeli. It makes adventure activities available to a wide range of visitors, including families and casual tourists, not just serious thrill-seekers. The park provides a controlled environment for experiencing the Kali River's beauty without needing to venture deep into the wilderness. It represents a successful model of eco-tourism, balancing recreation with the preservation of the local landscape and providing livelihoods for local operators.
