Mumbai's oldest public garden and zoo, famous for its Humboldt penguin exhibit, diverse wildlife, and the historic Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum.
Commonly known as the Mumbai Zoo or Byculla Zoo, the Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan is a large green space in the heart of the city. It's not just a zoo but also a botanical garden, making it one of the oldest public gardens in Mumbai. Visitors can explore enclosures housing a variety of animals, including elephants, tigers, leopards, crocodiles, and different species of birds in a large aviary. The layout allows for long walks along tree-lined paths connecting the different animal habitats.
