Located within the historic Convent of Santa Monica in Old Goa, the Museum of Christian Art is a unique institution dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of Indo-Portuguese Christian art. Best Time to Visit

The ideal time to visit is from November to February. During these months, the weather in Goa is pleasant and cool, perfect for sightseeing. This period also avoids the heavy monsoon season (June to September) and the hot summer months (March to May). While December is a great time to experience the festive spirit in Goa, be prepared for larger crowds, especially in the Old Goa heritage zone.
Peak Crowd: December and January, due to peak tourist season, Christmas, and New Year celebrations. Long weekends also see high footfall.
Moderate Crowd: October, November, and February on weekdays.
Low Crowd: April to September, covering the hot summer and monsoon seasons when tourist activity is generally lower.

How to Reach

Air

Goa International Airport (GOI) in Dabolim is the nearest airport, located about 26 km away. From the airport, you can hire a pre-paid taxi or a regular taxi to reach Old Goa in about 45-60 minutes.

Train

The closest railway station is Karmali (KRMI), just 2 km away, but it serves fewer trains. The main railway hub is Madgaon Junction (MAO), about 34 km away, which is well-connected to major cities across India. Taxis and auto-rickshaws are available from both stations.

Road

Old Goa is situated on the main highway network and is easily accessible by road. It's about 9 km from Panjim. State-run and private buses connect Panjim to Old Goa frequently. You can also drive or hire a scooter/car.

Local Transport

Within Goa, local buses are an economical option to reach Old Goa. Auto-rickshaws and taxis are widely available. Renting a scooter or motorcycle is a popular and flexible way for tourists to get around.
