Commonly known as Mysore Zoo, the Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens is one of the oldest and most well-regarded zoos in India. Spread across 157 acres, it provides a home to a wide array of animal species from different parts of the world. The enclosures are designed to be spacious and replicate natural habitats, set within a lush, garden-like environment. Visitors can walk along clean, tree-lined paths to see animals like giraffes, elephants, zebras, white tigers, and green anacondas.

The nearest airport is Mysore Airport (MYQ), located about 12 km away. However, it has limited connectivity. The closest major international airport is Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru (BLR), about 170 km away (3-4 hours by road).

Mysuru Junction (MYS) railway station is the nearest, located just 3 km from the zoo. It is well-connected to Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and other major Indian cities. You can hire an auto-rickshaw or a taxi from the station.
Road
Mysore is well-connected by an excellent road network. It is approximately 140 km from Bengaluru via NH275 (a 3-hour drive). Regular KSRTC and private buses run between Mysore and other major cities in Karnataka and neighboring states.

Auto-rickshaws are a popular mode of transport within the city. City buses have good connectivity to the zoo. Ride-hailing services like Ola and Uber are also easily available for convenient travel.
