Best Time to Visit

The ideal time to visit Delhi is from October to March when the weather is cool and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 25°C. This period is perfect for exploring the museum and nearby outdoor sites like Raj Ghat. The summer months from April to June are extremely hot, often exceeding 40°C. The monsoon season from July to September brings humidity and rain, which can disrupt travel plans. Weekday mornings are generally less crowded.

How to Reach

Air

Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) is the nearest airport, located about 20 km away. A taxi or the Airport Express Metro line can be used to reach the city center, from where you can take local transport to the museum.

Train

New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) is about 5 km away, and Old Delhi Railway Station (DLI) is about 4 km away. Both are major railway hubs with excellent connectivity. Auto-rickshaws and taxis are easily available from both stations.

Road

The museum is located on Mahatma Gandhi Marg (Ring Road), making it easily accessible by road from any part of Delhi and the surrounding NCR region. Public buses, taxis, and ride-hailing services provide good connectivity.

Local Transport

The Delhi Metro is the most efficient way to travel. The closest stations are Delhi Gate and ITO on the Violet Line. Auto-rickshaws and cycle-rickshaws are common for short distances. DTC buses have extensive coverage across the city.
