A striking 16th-century tomb near Humayun's Tomb, distinguished by its brilliant blue-tiled dome and early Mughal octagonal design.
Discover what makes this destination truly special

Neela Gumbad, which translates to 'Blue Dome', is an eye-catching tomb located just outside the main complex of Humayun's Tomb. Its most prominent feature is the dome covered in vivid blue glazed tiles, which stands out against the red sandstone of the surrounding structures. The tomb itself is an octagonal building, a design that was popular in the early Mughal period and a precursor to the grander tombs that followed. Inside, the chamber features a high ceiling with remnants of intricate incised and painted plasterwork, showing the detailed craftsmanship of the era.
