Best Time to Visit

The ideal time to visit is from October to March. During these months, the weather is pleasant and dry, making the drive and the visit comfortable. The post-monsoon period (October-December) is particularly beautiful as the surrounding forests of the Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary are lush and green. Summer months from April to May can be very hot and humid. While the lake can be visited during the monsoon (June-September), heavy rains can make the roads slippery and access challenging.

How to Reach

Air

The nearest airport is Goa International Airport (Dabolim - GOI), which is approximately 75 km away (around 2 hours by car).

Train

Madgaon (Margao) Junction Railway Station (MAO) is the nearest major railhead, located about 50 km away. You can hire a taxi from the station for the 1.5-hour drive.

Road

The lake is accessible by road from major towns in Goa. It is about 50 km from Margao and 45 km from Canacona. The route involves state highways and smaller village roads which can be narrow.

Local Transport

Renting a scooter or car is the most convenient way to visit. Taxis can be hired but may be expensive due to the remote location. Local bus connectivity is poor and not recommended for tourists.
