Rules & Restrictions

• • Valid passport and appropriate visas required to cross the international border between the US and Canada
• • No drones or unauthorized aerial vehicles allowed in the airspace above the falls
• • No swimming or wading in the Niagara River above or below the falls
• • Stay on marked paths; climbing over stone walls and protective railings is strictly prohibited
• • Pets must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet in the state park

Safety Information

• • Keep electronics in waterproof bags, as the mist from the falls extends far onto the viewing decks
• • Stay strictly on marked pathways and behind safety railings; the river currents are dangerously fast
• • Surfaces near the falls and on attraction walkways are constantly wet and can be very slippery; walk with caution
• • Keep a close eye on children, especially near the gorge rim and in crowded observation areas
• • During winter visits, watch out for black ice on the walkways and wear proper insulated, grip-soled footwear
