    About the Destination

    Overview

Paradise Beach, locally known as Full Moon Beach, is a small and isolated cove south of the more popular Om Beach in Gokarna. What makes it unique is its accessibility; you can only reach it by a short boat ride or by trekking through a forested hillock from Half Moon Beach. This seclusion ensures it remains less crowded and cleaner compared to the main beaches. The beach itself is a compact stretch of white sand flanked by rocky outcrops, with clear water that's good for a swim. The atmosphere is very laid-back and basic. You won't find large restaurants or resorts here, just a couple of small, temporary shacks selling water, snacks, and simple meals during the tourist season. Visitors come here specifically to escape the crowds, enjoy the quiet, and experience a more raw, natural beach setting. The journey to get there, whether by the scenic boat trip along the coast or the slightly adventurous trek, is part of the overall experience.

    Best Time to Visit

    • The best time to visit is from October to March when the weather is pleasant, and the sea is calm, making it ideal for boat rides and swimming. The post-monsoon period (October-November) offers lush green surroundings. Avoid the peak monsoon season (June to September) as boat services are suspended, the sea is rough, and the trekking paths become dangerously slippery. The summer months of April and May can be extremely hot and humid, making the trek uncomfortable.
    • Peak Crowd: December to January, especially during Christmas, New Year's, and long weekends. The small beach can feel full quickly.
    • Moderate Crowd: October-November and February-March on weekends.
    • Low Crowd: Weekdays during the tourist season, and the entire summer (April-May) and monsoon (June-September) periods.
