Police Bazaar, also known locally as Khyndai Lad, is the commercial and social core of Shillong. It's not a single market building but a large, sprawling area where numerous roads converge. The area is a dynamic mix of modern retail stores, small family-run shops, street-side stalls, and a wide array of restaurants and hotels. During the day, it's a primary shopping destination where you can find everything from branded apparel and electronics to traditional Meghalayan handicrafts, shawls, and bamboo products.
