The nearest airport is Shillong Airport (SHL) in Umroi, about 80 km away (2.5-3 hours drive). The larger and better-connected airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) in Guwahati, Assam, which is around 170 km away (4-5 hours drive).

Train

The nearest major railway station is Guwahati Railway Station (GHY), approximately 150 km from Cherrapunji. From the station, you can hire a taxi or take a shared cab to Shillong or directly to Cherrapunji.

Road

Cherrapunji is well-connected by road from Shillong (55 km, about 1.5-2 hours) and Guwahati (150 km, about 4-5 hours). You can hire a private taxi, or take state-run or private buses to Sohra town.
