Overview

Querim Beach, locally known as Keri Beach, is the northernmost beach in Goa, marking the state's coastal boundary. It has a distinct character compared to the more popular beaches further south. The landscape is defined by long stretches of white sand, rows of casuarina trees providing shade, and the Tiracol River joining the Arabian Sea at its northern end. This confluence creates a beautiful and dynamic environment, with views of the historic Tiracol Fort perched on a hill across the river in Maharashtra.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit is from November to February when the weather is dry and pleasant, with comfortable temperatures for beach activities. During this period, the sea is calm and the few beach shacks are operational. The monsoon season, from June to September, sees heavy rainfall and a rough sea, making the beach unsuitable for swimming and most shacks remain closed. The summer months from March to May can be very hot and humid.
Peak Crowd: Late December to early January, coinciding with the Christmas and New Year holidays. Even then, it remains far less crowded than Baga or Calangute.
Moderate Crowd: November, early December, and February on weekends, when local tourists and visitors from nearby beaches might visit.
Low Crowd: Weekdays from October to March, and the entire monsoon and summer season (April to September).

How to Reach

Air

Manohar International Airport (Mopa, GOX) is the nearest airport, located about 30 km away. It takes approximately 1 hour to reach by taxi.

Train

Pernem (PERN) is the closest railway station, around 20 km away. Thivim (THVM) is another major station about 30 km away, with better connectivity to major cities.

Road

The beach is well-connected by road from major towns in North Goa. It is approximately 30 km from Mapusa and 50 km from Panjim. Renting a scooter or car is the most common way to get here.

Local Transport

The best option is to hire a scooter or car. Local taxis are available from Arambol and Mandrem. Public bus frequency to this specific location is very low.
