Sagara Beach Resort - Sea-View Stay at Kovalam's Lighthouse Beach

Sagara Beach Resort is a modern establishment, developed in the latter half of the 20th century to cater to the increasing flow of tourists to Kovalam. Unlike historical properties, its origin is tied directly to the growth of Kovalam as a major international beach destination since the 1970s. The resort was built to capitalize on its prime location overlooking Lighthouse Beach, providing sea-view accommodation which was in high demand. Over the years, it has undergone renovations and expansions to maintain its position as a popular mid-range option, known for its views and accessibility to the beach.

The resort's significance is primarily in tourism and recreation. It represents a key segment of Kovalam's accommodation landscape, offering a balance between cost and location. For many visitors, it provides an accessible way to experience a sea-view stay, a feature often reserved for more expensive hotels. It also plays a role in promoting wellness tourism through its Ayurvedic center, a major draw for visitors to Kerala. Its presence helps sustain the local economy by providing employment and catering to a steady stream of tourists who frequent the shops and restaurants along Lighthouse Beach.
