An impressive dam in South Goa known for its unique duckbill spillway that creates a stunning circular waterfall during the monsoon, set amidst a botanical garden.
Discover what makes this destination truly special

The Salaulim Dam is an impressive structure on the Salaulim River, a tributary of the Zuari River, located in South Goa. Built for irrigation and to supply drinking water to a large part of the state, it has also become a popular sightseeing destination. The main attraction is its unique spillway, a semi-circular 'duckbill' design. During the monsoon season, when the reservoir is full, water cascades over the curved crest, creating a spectacular circular waterfall that drops into the river below. The sheer volume and sound of the water make for a powerful experience.
Plan your trip around the ideal season for the best experience
July-September, especially on weekends and public holidays, when the dam is overflowing.
October-January, particularly on weekends, for picnics and sightseeing.
