A challenging high-altitude pass on the Kashmir Great Lakes Trek, offering access to the stunning Gangabal and Nundkol alpine lakes.
Satsaran Pass is a high-altitude mountain pass located on the famous Kashmir Great Lakes trekking route, accessible from Sonmarg. It is not a destination you can drive to, but rather a challenging and rewarding point on a multi-day trek. The name 'Satsaran' translates to 'seven lakes', and the area is known for a series of small, interconnected alpine lakes, though the main large lakes are further along the trail. Reaching the pass involves a strenuous climb through rugged terrain, crossing vast meadows and rocky patches. Trekkers experience a raw, untouched landscape with thin air and rapidly changing weather.
