Hotel Sea Palace - Waterfront Stay in Kollam

Hotel Sea Palace is a contemporary establishment, not a heritage property with historical roots. It was built in the latter half of the 20th century to cater to the growing number of tourists and business visitors to Kollam, a major center for trade and tourism. Its construction was strategically planned to leverage its scenic location beside the Ashtamudi Lake. Over the years, it has established itself as one of the familiar mid-range hotels in the city, known for its views and accessibility. It has undergone periodic renovations to maintain its facilities and continues to operate as a popular choice for accommodation in the city center.

The primary significance of Hotel Sea Palace lies in its exceptional location. It provides visitors with direct access and views of the Ashtamudi Lake, a Ramsar Convention-protected wetland. For travelers, it holds significance as a convenient and scenic base from which to explore the famous Kerala backwaters. While it lacks architectural or historical importance, its popularity makes it a local landmark. It is significant for tourism in Kollam by providing consistent mid-range accommodation that makes the region's natural beauty easily accessible to a wide range of visitors.
