A 17th-century Portuguese coastal fort offering stunning views of the Arabian Sea and Sinquerim Beach, serving as the lower bastion of Aguada Fort.
Sinquerim Fort is a coastal fortification located at the southern end of Sinquerim Beach. Built in the 17th century by the Portuguese, it functions as the lower extension of the much larger Aguada Fort, which sits on the hill above. Its primary purpose was to guard the mouth of the Mandovi River and protect the territory from naval attacks. The fort itself is a relatively small structure, comprising a fortified wall that extends into the sea with a bastion at its end. Visitors can walk along the laterite stone walls and take in the expansive views of the Arabian Sea.
