Best Season:The best time to visit Sonamarg is from late April to October. During these months, the meadows are lush green, and the weather is suitable for sightseeing and trekking. May and June are peak tourist months. For those interested in trekking to the alpine lakes, July and August are ideal. The road to Sonamarg is closed from around November to mid-April due to heavy snowfall at Zoji La pass, making the destination inaccessible during winter.

Costs for activities like pony rides and local cab hires to specific points like Thajiwas Glacier or Zero Point are separate and need to be negotiated.
