    About the Destination

    Overview

Spring Valley Mountain is a viewpoint located on the outskirts of Thekkady, offering expansive views of the surrounding Western Ghats. The spot provides a wide-angle perspective of rolling hills, dense forests, and the patchwork of spice plantations that define the region. A short, moderately steep trail leads up to the main viewing area, which is essentially a natural clearing on the mountainside. The atmosphere here is generally quiet, especially on weekdays, with the sounds of nature and the wind being the dominant features. Visitors can see vast stretches of cardamom, pepper, and coffee plantations in the valleys below. During the early mornings, the area is often covered in a layer of mist, which gradually clears as the sun rises, revealing the landscape. It's a place for observation and quiet appreciation of the region's natural geography rather than a developed park with multiple activities.
