A prominent Sikh Gurudwara in Delhi known for its stunning golden dome, holy Sarovar, and the tradition of serving free meals (Langar) to all visitors.
Sri Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is a prominent Sikh house of worship in the heart of Delhi, easily recognized by its gleaming golden dome and tall flagpole, the Nishan Sahib. The entire complex is built from white marble, which creates a calming effect as you walk through its premises. At its center is a large holy water tank, the 'Sarovar,' where devotees take a dip. The main structure houses the prayer hall, or Darbar Sahib, where the holy scripture, Guru Granth Sahib, is placed and hymns ('kirtan') are recited throughout the day, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere.
