The best time to visit is from April to June for pleasant weather and clear views of the green meadows. For those wanting to see the church covered in a blanket of snow, the months from December to February are ideal. However, access during heavy snowfall can be challenging. The monsoon months of July and August should be avoided due to rain. September and October also offer good weather with fewer tourists.

Air

The nearest airport is Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport (SXR) in Srinagar, which is approximately 56 km away. From the airport, you can hire a taxi or a cab to reach Gulmarg, a journey of about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Train

The nearest major railway station is Jammu Tawi (JAT), located about 290 km from Gulmarg. From Jammu, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Srinagar, and then another taxi to Gulmarg. The journey from Jammu to Gulmarg can take around 8-10 hours.

Road

Gulmarg is well-connected by road to Srinagar. The scenic drive takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. J&K State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) buses and private taxis are readily available from Srinagar to Gulmarg.

Local Transport

Within Gulmarg, most places are accessible by foot. For longer distances or for a unique experience, you can hire ponies or ATVs. Local taxis are also available for sightseeing.
