The area is generally inaccessible during the winter months from November to March due to heavy snowfall.

Train

The nearest major railway station is Jammu Tawi (JAT), about 290 km away. From Jammu, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Srinagar, and then another vehicle to Gulmarg. The journey from Jammu to Gulmarg can take 9-10 hours.

Road

Gulmarg is well-connected by road to Srinagar. The journey of 56 km takes around 2-3 hours. Regular bus services and taxis are available from Srinagar to Gulmarg. The roads are scenic but can be winding.
